A Bit About Wood.

Have you ever stopped to wonder what life on this planet would be like without wood? It is one of the most versatile and readily available materials to build with, and is one of our most precious resources for many reasons. Trees are the primary air conditioners of this planet, taking in  nutrients from the soil, carbon dioxide from the air, and sunlight, and giving back the oxygen that sustains us. We need to protect our trees. Where would the human race be without Gopher wood? Extinct perhaps. According to scripture, the ark was built by amatures (Noah and his sons) from gopher wood, and survived a flood of a magnitude that most of us have never imagined, carrying its passangers safely for over 2 years while the waters receeded. On the other hand, the Titanic was a steel ship built by professionals and sank first time out. Tells me no matter who does the building, we can trust in God's design for things, can't trust in man's.

  4. I used to work at a lumber yard in Iowa; they used to call me "Sawman" because I did a lot of work in the sawshop. So I appreciate wood; it is a renewable resource; God created it.

Noah and his sons were amateurs, but they had the Lord to help them build the ark. The Titanic was a great ship--for three days--and then it sank. The Lord was not with the Titanic.

I would rather be an amateur and have the Lord on my side.
